There are many methodologies and schools of thought on fitness. Fitness is defined as:
1. Good Health or physical condition; especially as the result of exercise and proper nutrition.
2. The state or condition of being fit; suitability or appropriateness.
In the fire department, our fitness is an integral part of our operational readiness. When a request for service arrives in the fire station, fitness affects every part of our response. Among the factors affected by fitness is TIME and EFFICIENCY. It is our responsibility to the public we serve to maintain an elite level of physical conditioning.
